Armbro Operative Play The Field

Aluring holds the bragging rights amongst the matrons on our farm.  Having left the Group 1 winner, Our Femme Fatale, she is a 100% producer.  Aluring herself was a winner as a 2YO in 2:02.8 and earned $17,190 in a career that saw her net 2 wins and 16 placings.

Aluring hails from one of Australia’s most prolific Group 1 winning juvenile families.  In fact, Aluring’s dam; Play The Field can lay claim to 6 individual Group 1 winning descendants whose wins include 3 Vicbred Finals, 1 NSW Breeders Challenge Final, 2 Breeders Crown Finals, 2 APG Finals, 3 Oaks and 8 individual winners of more than $100,000!

Aluring’s first foal is Then We Dance, an Art Major mare who achieved a record of 33-3-4-10 and earnings of $23,650 before heading to the breeding barn.  She was bought through the Yearling Sales by clients of Steve Turnbull and placed in a heat of the 2YO Bathurst Gold Tiara at 2 and the consolation of the Gold Bracelet at 3.  She also raced in the Group 1 final of the APG final for 3YO fillies.

Our Femme Fatale (pictured) is Aluring’s second foal and her racing career has been the highlight of the Nixon Bloodstock enterprise.  Not only did we take great pride in the fact that we had bred this little champ, but we maintained some ownership in this filly, in partnership with a crew of family and friends.

Our Femme Fatale has competed at the highest level during two remarkable juvenile seasons. Incredibly durable, at 2 she won heats of the Tatlow Memorial, Vicbred Super Series and Australasian Breeders Crown. Her season netted 6 wins and 3 placings from 13 starts and peaked with her victory in the Group 1 Vicbred Super Series. Her efforts at 3 have continued to see her occupy a position amongst the best fillies in the country. Racing from heats through to finals of the Victoria Oaks, Vicbred Super Series and Breeders Crown, her 3yo season yielded 8 wins and 1 placing from 16 starts.

Take a look at 3 of her best wins:

The next of Aluring’s progeny is an as yet unnamed 2YO filly by Grinfromeartoear.  Purchased through the yearling sales by Clayton Tonkin and partners, we are eagerly awaiting her racetrack debut in the early part of 2013.

Aluring’s 4th foal was her first colt; 'Racey'.  This lovely Art Major full brother to Our Femme Fatale is headed to the APG sales in Sydney next year and is a colt with looks to kill and a gentleman's temperament.

Recently we welcomed a lovely Grinfromeartoear filly out of Aluring and was successfully served by the super sire, Art Major on      of October, ensuring another early foal in 2013!
